I actually tried this shortly after I wrote the comment, because I purchased 5 bananas and a bunch of collard greens after initially reading your blog yesterday. I was actually on twitter searching for an easy collard green recipe, and whala! Here it was! Raw and delicious sounding. I had all the ingredients plus the vita mix blender my family got from Costco, so I whipped up a 3 banana, 2 cup water, 2 fresh and cleaned, extra large collard green leaves minus the stems and made it into a smoothie. It was absolutely great! And it wasn't bitter tasting or gross like I thought it would be. I had three full glasses and gave a tall glass to my father who likewise agreed that yeah, it's a wonderful smoothie. Very healthy. Thanks Mike.

Thanks for the comment and recommendations.

I used collards that were a few days old and a bit wilted down, so that might've made them more palatable in a smoothie.

Like you said "gotta try it your way."

I haven't tried this yet, but after telling my sister about it, she told me not to waste the bananas or the collard greens making this recipe as the collard greens have a really strong taste that no banana could take away. I have yet to decide if I will make just a little bit to taste it.

Oh, and I watched your u-tube videos on how to make those smoothies. I notice you don't wash any of the fruits or veggies beforehand. That's not good. What with the latest scare on ecoli infected spinach and other food items, I would be careful. Oh, and I notice that you tasted your smoothie before pouring it into the glass jar by sipping it directly from the vitamix juicer. That's not good either as the bacteria from your saliva and mouth will spoil all of your precious smoothie before you have a chance to finish it off.

I like your idea of eating and drinking healthy though. Raw food. . . .gotta try it your way.
